Robyn Dufty ~ Senior Advisor ~ Jill of all Trades
Celebrating her 50th year in the Opal Business in the US Robyn is still very actively involved in all things Opal. Her love and passion for this fabulous stone took her on an amazing journey to the shores of America and beyond. Her lifelong mission has been to bring this magnificent stone from its humble beginnings in the remote opal mines of Australia to adorn an opal loving public in America.
Many years of dedicated work, travel in the US and on the opal fields, gem industry events and working with the finest and most creative jewelry designers in the world has helped Robyn to become one of the most knowledgeable and well known figures in the opal industry today.
Louise Dufty-Kelly ~ Head of Sales & Marketing ~ Designer ~ Cutter
A lifelong love and fascination with opals, gemstones and jewelry led Louise down the track of "second generation" opal dealer. Spending the last 20 years raising a family and working alongside her husband Alex in their high end cabinet making business she learned valuable skills, working with her hands, complex machinery and tools, that provided a natural transition into the world of cutting and polishing opals and other gemstones. Furthering those skills with the art of jewelry making she understands how the cut gemstones can be turned into fabulous creations. Armed with her extensive knowledge and natural charm Louise is the perfect person to assist you with your opal selections.
Alex Kelly ~ Head of Mining & Cutting ~ Field Buyer ~ Show Manager ~ Sales
Alex began his career in cabinet making in 1998 in Australia. Working on many prestigious and notable projects since that time Alex refined his skills in custom high-end detailed cabinet making. Adding to his portfolio with courses in 3D computer programing and design along with business management courses Alex is the perfect person to help guide us into our opal future. With his amazing work ethic and extensive knowledge working with tools and machinery it's been an easy transition for him to establish our state of the art opal cutting shop. Alex remains highly sought after by his many regular cabinetry clients so he is juggling both business worlds at the moment. Lured by the same fascination with opal that we all share Alex obtained the lease on a black opal mine several years ago. He has now started the drilling and mining process. We are all excited about the treasures he will find.
Fran Pollitt Sarver ~ Office & Web Manager ~ Social Media Guru
Fran Pollitt Sarver is thrilled to be part of the Dufty & Co team. Fran has a background working in digital media both as an educator and independent creative director, and also in various roles within New York City cultural institutions. After relocating to the Ohio River Valley in 2017, Fran was fortunate to meet Robyn and discover they shared a love for technology, design, and history. Ms. Sarver is excited to learn more about opals and other Australian gemstones from the Dufty & Co experts. While supporting the office and digital needs of Dufty & Co, Fran also looks forward to interacting with you, our valued customer and assisting with your opal purchases.
